It's by using the ideas from The Matrix that allows the sandbox game to expand into a world without rules.

It's not a big problem because if you know the series, it's part of the hilarious plot. Obviously Saints Row IV liberally "borrows" from The Matrix. The Zin turn humans into slaves, where their minds "live" in an unreal universe, controlled through a computer program. Shortly after the election, aliens attack Earth and the Zin change the rules of the game. This all happens in an over-the-top way, which is something expected of the series. The first mission triggers the a "choice" to become the President of the United States of America. Fight to save the fate of the planet and help the heroes win a fierce battle using weapons, supernatural powers and unlimited abilities. The game begins a few years after the end of Saints Row: The Third. If the fighters win, then the world will free itself from the attack of alien guests, but if the battle is lost, people will forever become slaves of extraterrestrial inhabitants. A great, intergalactic war is brewing, the outcome of which will be decided by the future of all mankind. They need to find a way to return to their home planet and confront the aliens. Now the main characters find themselves in space. Trying to remove the obstacle in the face of the Order of Saints, they send their leader along with a team to the distant galactic planet Steelport. Armed and hostile creatures want to subjugate power over the planet and take possession of new territory. Not long after the last events, an alien invasion takes place in the world. The townspeople are confident that he will become a wise and conscientious ruler who will do everything for the good of his native people. The leader of the Saints was elected head of state. In the United States of America, presidential elections are being held. Saints Row 4 is set in the virtual world of a fictional universe.
